Glendale Galleria
Glendale Galleria draws over 26 million visitors a year to the center, twice the annual number of visitors to Disneyland. With 250 of the country’s top specialty stores and four major department stores, Glendale Galleria is a premier and brand-name shopping destination in the Los Angeles area. Anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s and JCPenney, plus the first three-level Target store in the nation, Glendale Galleria houses an eclectic mix of boutique stores and one-of-a-kind shops including LEGO, Coach, Apple, Charles David, BOSS Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Aveda, bebe, bebe sport, MAC Cosmetics, Banana Republic, Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, Ann Taylor, Sephora and Williams-Sonoma Grand Cuisine. Due to the center’s extraordinary annual shopper visitation, location, sales volume, unique retail concepts and cutting-edge marketing programs, Glendale Galleria receives over $7 million in national and regional media exposure annually. Glendale Galleria is consistently ranked in the top 10% across the nation in sales per square foot.
Glendale Galleria is noted for consistently being the first American shopping center to launch new and cutting edge retail concepts for several of the world’s best-known and most luxurious brand names including Metropark, For Love 21, Apple and Marc Ecko Cut & Sew. Before Disney Store Inc. opened hundreds of stores across the country, it launched its first store at the Glendale Galleria. Through the center’s Classic Designs Fine Jewelers, Glendale Galleria has the distinction of offering the first West coast Cartier in-store boutique as well as limited-edition merchandise from prestigious brands including Parmigiani, Brietling and Chopard.
Glendale Galleria opened its doors for business in 1976 as a redevelopment project with the City of Glendale. The center has consistently grown to meet the needs of its shoppers and the community. The center expanded in 1983 and the Orbach’s department store was converted in 1989 into what is now Palm Court. The Food Court was renovated in 1989 and the Galleria underwent a remodel in 1997. Located at the heart of Los Angeles and all it has to offer, Glendale Galleria is perfectly positioned for locals coming from the Glendale (2), Ventura (134) or Golden State (5) Freeways, or for tourists visiting the Los Angeles Zoo, the world-famous Descanso Gardens, the star-studded Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios, the Pantages Theatre, or attending the Rose Bowl.
